| Founded in 1974 . . . |
Ponderosa Aero Club was founded in
1974 on the banks of the Boise River in Idaho at a
little airport called Strawberry Glen. Over thirty
years later and located at the Boise Airport, the
Club is bigger and better, with almost 150 members
and a safety record second to none. Ponderosa offers
the largest fleet of well-equipped, well-maintained
aircraft in the State of Idaho. Our aircraft are maintained
by Aviation Maintenance Center in Caldwell, Idaho.
A non-profit organization, Ponderosa is a highly
professional, safety minded, well managed Club, controlled
by the membership. Members are screened prior to joining,
as well as for continuing membership. Their not-for-profit
status allows the club to offer rates at a very competitive
level. With a staff of five experienced flight instructors
and eleven aircraft, the club exists strictly to provide
training and availability of aircraft to its members.
Members are protected with an insurance policy specifically
covering the members and containing a non-subrogation
clause.
There is no surcharge to the members for this additional
insurance. The computerized billing service affords
members a monthly statement of hours flown, aircraft
flown and instruction received. A video system for
viewing training aids, safety films and proficiency
programs is available to members at their convenience.
“Prior to using Flight Schedule Pro, we were using a scheduling book.
If the General Manager wasn’t in or couldn’t get to the phone, students
had to leave a message, the GM would have to call them back, or worse, students
would have to physically come in to the facility to reserve an instructor and
an aircraft. Flight Schedule Pro has simplified this process and certainly added
value to our Club."
